INTERACTING PROTEINS (target, enzyme, carrier, transporter)

Users can search for 2,939 interacting proteins for the integrated drugs and compounds in PGxDB. We classified the protein targets into 14 superfamilies, named: adhesion, ion channel, kinase, enzyme (other than kinase), GPCR, transporter, membrane receptor (other than GPCRs), secreted protein, structural protein, epigenetic regulator, nuclear receptor, transcription factor, surface antigen, and unknown (for proteins for which we could not find any superfamily designation). These superfamilies were originally derived from ChEMBL database (version 33) and were further finetuned.
For each protein, we also show its primary sequence and predicted 3D structure (from AlphaFold protein structure database), then we map variants occurring on its corresponding encoding gene (data retrieved from the GRCh38 genome assembly). As an example, the image on the right shows marks of 3 missent variants on 3D structure of Vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 1 (VEGFR-1) encoded from FLT1 gene FLT1 which results in amino acid changes at positions 41, 101, 147 from histidine (H) to tyrosine (Y), tyrosine (Y) and asparagine (N), respectively.
